WELCOME MESSAGE

By the President of the World LP Gas Association

 

The 23rd World LP Gas Forum in Madrid will be a truly unique event. For the first time in our history the WLPGA will combine its annual event with the annual congresses of both the European LP Gas Association (AEGPL) and the Ibero American LP Gas Association (AIGLP). In addition we will hold the third Global LP Gas Technology Conference as well as a significant side event looking at LP Gas development in sub-Saharan Africa. All of these events together will contribute to what I believe to be the biggest and most significant single meeting of our industry ever.

This unprecedented meeting, held under the general theme “LP Gas: Exceptional Energy” occurs at a very interesting time for our industr y. Clean energy sources such as LP Gas are a key topic of discussion for policy makers, civil society and media. The reasons are numerous. The environment is a major issue as we saw in the attention surrounding the COP-15 meeting in Copenhagen last year. In the developing world, demand for energy is increasing at a steady rate, yet 2.5 billion people still have no access to modern energy and 2 million die every year from exposure to pollution from using traditional biomass fuel for cooking and heating.

Dynamic speakers and chairmen are lined up for this conference to debate and discuss all pertinent LP Gas topics and the social events have been chosen to enhance networking and interaction. In addition to the conferences, the World LP Gas Forum is the only event worldwide where you can visit a host of key companies from every spectrum of the LP Gas business exhibiting under one roof. This year we will showcase the largest exhibition we have ever had as we combine the exhibitions normally associated with three separate events into one.

The LP Gas industry has tremendous opportunities to contribute to a cleaner, healthier and more prosperous world. If you only attend one LP Gas event this year, make sure it is the 23rd World LP Gas Forum.
